My name is Julian, and I am a proud U.S. Navy Veteran.

I have had the honor of serving alongside U.S. Marines as a combat medic (Hospital Corpsman). Back in 2009, I deployed to the Afghanistan campaign during “Operation Enduring Freedom”. While at our camp, I noticed that my Marines were tying up gear and other stuff with cord. I got interested because they made all kinds of knots and braids while tying down things like tents, and just anything you can think of. I mean, these guys used paracord to tie down and fix everything (sort of like duct tape) . Later on, I also noticed they were making bracelets, belts, riffle slings, among other things; I was mind blown by their creativity. I discovered that this cord turned out to be Paracord, AKA 550 Cord, due to its tensile strength that can withstand up to 550 lbs of weight. When I finished my tour, life got busy, and forgot about Paracord for a while.

Later on, in  2015, I suddenly got curious and creative, and made a custom paracord band for my Apple Watch 1st generation. My friends, among other people at work, kept asking about my paracord watch band, and also suggested that I should start selling them as it was a very unique item; I was on the fence about launching my own business for about two years.

Fast forward to 2017, I finally had the courage to open my own shop. My wife Blanca (and business partner) and I, were brainstorming on the name of our shop.
Since we craft custom-handmade paracord wearables with styles and colors “According to You”, my wife suggested to shorten our slogan and use it to name our shop “Cording2U”.
